I remember eagerly waiting for our beloved, breaths away from being 12-years-old, daughter to return from a pre-birthday trip to New York City, I found myself with plenty of things to do and not much desire to do any of them. So I sat. I moped in the family room, in full blown emotional prickliness, partly because of my deep desire to see my kid. Are You Up to the Test?
Testing Your Followers

But more importantly, they measured her dedication to mastering the intangible aspects of being a Tang Soo Do practitioner, her heart.
As a leader there will be a time when you must test your followers. I don’t mean a weird, manipulative test of loyalty or anything like that. I mean an evaluation given by an authority (you or your Designate) to determine their level of competency in a given area. A TEST.

The Limits of ‘Holding Space’
The phrase ‘holding space’ or ‘ holding the
space’ has been cropping up in my Facebook news
feed quite a bit lately.
In the most recent article, the
author defines holding space…”It means that we are willing to walk alongside another person in whatever journey they’re on without judging them, making them feel inadequate, trying to fix them, or trying to impact the outcome. When we hold space for other people, we open our hearts, offer unconditional support, and let go of judgement [sic] and control.” (See post.) Beautiful.
